Launched in 2020 by six pioneering brands—Breitling, Bvlgari, De Bethune, Girard-Perregaux, H. Moser & Cie., and MB&F—this event blossomed into a cornerstone of the watchmaking community. The beauty of Geneva Watch Days lay in its decentralized nature, allowing each Maison to craft its own unique experience across the city, whether in luxurious boutiques or charming hotels. Yet, the heart of it all remained the common pavilion at Rotonde du Mont-Blanc, where more than 100 extraordinary timepieces from 52 participating brands awaited discovery.

This was not just an exhibition; it was a celebration of high horology in a laid-back, festive atmosphere, where simplicity met elegance, and the passion for fine watchmaking shone through. With free access, Geneva Watch Days invited everyone—from seasoned collectors to curious newcomers—to immerse themselves in the world of exceptional timepieces and to connect with the stories behind the brands.

Brands introduced a range of captivating designs, from innovative new models to those honoring tradition. Here are some of the standout pieces that we believe are a must look for any watch enthusiast :

Breitling

Breitling marked its “140 Years of Firsts” with a groundbreaking release: perpetual calendar chronograph movement. To celebrate, the brand introduced limited 140th-anniversary editions of its iconic models — Premier, Navitimer, and Chronomat—all powered by the innovative Caliber B19. This movement offered unmatched precision for an entire century with minimal adjustments and boasted an impressive 96-hour power reserve. We love this watch because it powers through four days straight without needing a single wind.

Favre Leuba

Favre Leuba made a triumphant return, celebrating 287 years of horological mastery. The brand unveiled three new collections, comprising 22 fresh designs, to mark this momentous occasion. The Chief Collection was completely revamped, blending its signature vintage elements with a contemporary twist. The Chief Chronograph, a standout piece, retained the classic ‘70s design, refreshed with a sporty, modern edge, highlighted by its retro-inspired cushion shaped case. It’s such a stand-out piece, one instantly falls in love with it.

Bvlgari

Bvlgari redefined men’s watchmaking with its Octo series, merging tradition with a contemporary vision. Renowned for their expertise in horological acoustics, Bvlgari impressed once again with the Octo Roma Grande Sonnerie Tourbillon and Octo Roma Carillon Tourbillon minute repeater. These timepieces were inspired by the “tritone,” a musical interval that resonated with musicians, drawing creative cues from Lorenzo Viotti, the conductor of the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra.

Konstantin Chaykin

Konstantin Chaykin made waves at the Geneva Watch Days 2024 with his latest creation—the ThinKing. At just 1.65 mm thick, it was the slimmest mechanical wristwatch ever made. This marvel was part of the “Wristmons” collection, featuring a joker-inspired dial with “eye” indicators for hours and minutes. ThinKing captured the attention of experts and the press alike, earning accolades from top global publications.

HYT

HYT’s Millésime Edition introduced bold new colors—Purple, Green, and Chocolate—adding a fresh, modern twist to its lineup. Launched in the fall, the T1 Series stood out with its sleek 45mm diameter and vertical grain satin-finished dial. Each hue was enhanced by HYT’s signature fluidic time displays, with vibrant red fluid for the green and chocolate models, and a striking black for the purple. Case options included titanium, DLC titanium, and 5N gold.

Oris

Oris became the Official Timekeeper for France’s Ligue 1 McDonald’s and Ligue 2 BKT, in collaboration with the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP). To celebrate, Oris launched the LFP Limited Edition Divers Sixty-Five, a tribute to the “Les Défenseurs de l’Enfance” football tournament, which supported children and CNAPE-backed charities. The watch featured playful, childlike script, a blue dial symbolizing the UN’s 17th goal, and a stainless steel case back engraved with the tournament’s logo. We appreciate the initiative and their drive for change. Their commitment to both craftsmanship and community truly sets them apart.

Angelus

Angelus introduced the Chronodate Titanium Magnetic Silver edition—a watch where grey reigned supreme. The titanium case and sunray-brushed “Magnetic Silver” dial created a monochromatic masterpiece, accentuated by deep black and a touch of red. This ultra-sporty and refined color scheme drew the eye, holding it in a captivating gaze.

De Bethune

De Bethune’s DB28xs Aérolite was a stunning fusion of art and science. The dial featured a unique guilloché pattern, offset by the geometric lines of Muonionalusta meteorite. This timepiece merged elements from the DB28xs Starry Seas and DB28XP Météorite models, pushing the boundaries of contemporary watchmaking. Encased in a 38.7 mm black matte zirconium case with a blue meteorite dial, it symbolized the union of earth and sky, craftsmanship and innovation.

MB&F

MB&F presented the M.A.D.1S, a sleek evolution of its popular M.A.D.1 model. The “S” signified a slimmer profile, with a case just 15mm thick, housing a new Swiss movement—the La Joux-Perret G101. Czapek & Cie

Czapek & Cie took its Antarctique collection to new heights with the Antarctique Polar Sky and Antarctique S Polar Sky models. These stunning timepieces featured aventurine glass dials, available in 40.5mm and 38.5mm sizes. For those craving extra luxury, the Antarctique Flying Diamonds and Antarctique S Flying Diamonds models came with diamond-set indexes and optional diamond-encrusted cases and bracelets. The Antarctique cut diamonds, with their 24 facets, amplified the dials’ brilliance. Limited to just 99, 77, 8, and 18 pieces. With such limited availability, these extraordinary pieces are sure to disappear quickly !

As Geneva Watch Days 2024 wrapped up, it was clear that the event was more than just a display of fine watches—it was a celebration of passion, creativity, and craftmanship. The timepieces showcased weren’t just marvels of engineering; they were stories waiting to be worn. This prestigious event features various categories, honoring exceptional watches for their mechanical innovation, artistic craftsmanship, and technical complexity. GPHG provides a renowned platform for watchmakers worldwide to exhibit their talents, nurturing innovation and creativity within the industry. Winning a GPHG award signifies international recognition and prestige in the watchmaking community.

The 23rd GPHG awards ceremony will take place on November 9 at the Théâtre du Léman in Geneva, starting from 6:30 PM, and will be livestreamed on gphg.org. During this event, 84 watches and 6 mechanical clocks will be competing for 20 distinctions, including the coveted “Aiguille d’Or” Grand Prix.

This exhibition, representing a unique opportunity to admire the finest watchmaking creations from 56 brands, has made stopovers this autumn in Macau, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, and New York. It vividly showcases the creativity and diversity of contemporary watchmaking in an original scenography designed for GPHG by Studio preorder & soldout and produced by Dietlin Swiss Showcases.

Among the remarkable timepieces featured are Simon Brette’s Chronometre Artisans in the Men’s Category, Audemars Piguet‘s Code11.59 (Ultra-Complication) Universelle RD#4 in the Mechanical Exception category, and Felipe Pikullik‘s Moon Phase 1 in the Calendar & Astronomy category. Bulgari‘s Octo Roma Automatic also stands out in the Petite Aiguille category. To name just a small few of them.

The level of engineering, from concept to materials, the meticulous hand finishing, the aesthetic appeal, and the innovation behind these achievements are truly mind-boggling. It represents mathematics taken to the next level. For individuals with a deep appreciation for engineering, a keen eye for design, and an appreciation for the artistry within these watches, watching the livestreamed event on November 9 is an absolute must.

Crafted in steel, the case of the watch is snow set with 400 diamonds (VVS1, Color D) totalling almost 1.90 carats of pure carbon. The watch is reminiscent of the starry heavens. These 400 diamonds are meticulously selected from eight different formats and adorn the flamboyant case of the UR-100V Stardust. The minute scale beneath the crystal globe is studded with 36 diamonds, while 24 diamonds gracefully adorn the crown. Another 22 diamonds are set meticulously into the steel pin buckle. 

Adding to the striking beauty of the watch, the hours and minutes hands are painted in Super-LumiNova® and accentuated by 36 brilliant-cut diamonds. The watch also features two recesses on the flanks of its satellite carrier. One of which is the kilometre counter that represents the distance travelled by Earth on its axis in 20 minutes (554 kilometres). The second one shows the distance travelled by the Earth around the Sun during the same period (35,750 kilometres). The watch has a 48-hour power reserve. This stunning work of art comes with a fabric strap in “Baltimore blue”. 

This new launch will not only sparkle brilliantly on the wrist but will also ignite a radiating shine in one’s eyes and is limited to just 10 pieces a year.

Geneva Watch Days started off just two years ago in 2020. Despite the short duration of its existence, it has become a regular watch event that has deeply embedded its roots in the watch industry. Unlike Watches and Wonders, Geneva Watch Days is a de-centralized exhibition. What does that mean? 

Like regular exhibitions, all exhibitors showcase their launches under one roof, the members of Geneva Watch Days showcase their newly launched timepieces in their individual boutiques/ showrooms

So, who are these members? Geneva Watch Days was launched by a pool of Founding Benefactor Brands including Bulgari, Breitling, De Bethune, H. Moser & Cie, MB&F, Ulysse Nardin and Urwerk. Several additional Maisons have already officially joined the event, as Benefactor or Associate Members: Jacob & Co, Arnold & Son, Doxa, Frédérique Constant, Atelier de Monaco, Alpina, Greubel Forsey, Maurice Lacroix, Oris, Phillips in association with Bacs and Russo, and Reuge. Bianchet, Czapek, and Louis Erard have joined as Regular Members.

Moving on to the timepieces that caught our eye from Ulysse Nardin. The newly launched Lady Diver Rainbow edition. This young and sporty looking 39mm timepiece is water resistant up to 300 meters. Its dazzling design is extremely eye-catching to say the least. There are 40 stones on the unidirectional bezel of this watch that ensures it catches light even in the darkest depths of the ocean. The Lady Diver comes in two variants, white and black, both of which are a limited edition of just 300 timepieces each. 

The Lady Diver Rainbow successfully combines beauty and functionality, with an array of colours and silicium technology that powers the watch. Why silicium, you may ask? Silicium has become one of the most beneficial materials for watchmakers since the 2000s. It has exceptional properties, it is totally non magnetic, extremely light and elastic. It doesn’t deform with time which makes it very durable, neither does it require lubrication and it’s also resistant to corrosion. Thanks to a silicium dioxide layer that stabilizes the parts and makes them insensitive to thermal variations. 

The white Lady Diver Rainbow has a stainless steel case and a silver dial. It comes with either white structured leather strap. The black variant also has a black stainless steel case. The straps are the same as the white variant with the only exception that the black leather strap is black and has white stitches. The buckles differ in colour just like the case, with the white variant having a stainless steel tang buckle and the black with a black ceramic tang buckle. 

So, ladies, if you are looking at a new underwater adventure, you now know about a new companion that can potentially accompany you in the dark depths of the sea. The Ulysse Nardin Lady Diver Rainbow is a sure bet!
