To mark the 70th anniversary of the Fifty Fathoms, Blancpain is collaborating with Swatch to create a playful version of its iconic Fifty Fathoms scuba diving watch. A dynamic duo in the watch industry, they have embarked on a thrilling adventure beneath the waves with this watch.
Their mission is to craft a collection of five extraordinary timepieces that pay homage to the deep blue oceans that Blancpain holds close to its heart. Explore the Bioceramic Scuba Fifty Fathoms Collection, a non-limited collection of five models, where innovation meets joie de vivre in a whirlwind of colours and technology. These watches are not ordinary, they’re crafted from the ingenious bioceramic blend of two-thirds ceramic and one-third biomaterials derived from castor oil. Each model celebrates one of the five majestic oceans that grace our planet. It’s a joyful fusion of Blancpain’s iconic Fifty Fathoms and Swatch’s scuba spirit and environmental passion.
The typical case, the unidirectional rotating bezel to measure the duration of the dive and the self-winding movement protected from magnetic fields – all the main features of the Fifty Fathoms are present in this timepiece. The collection also features a playful touch to Blancpain’s iconic diver’s watch. Each model features the shared Blancpain X Swatch logos on the dial and crown. The straps are made from recycled fishing nets removed from the ocean floor. The watch has a mechanical movement with a 90-hour power reserve. The marvellous movements of the watch can be admired from the watch’s clear case back.
The watch will be available at the Swatch Boutiques worldwide from the 9th of September. It is approximately priced @ INR 35,000 to INR 40,000 (the price has yet to be announced officially).
